Acquired V4 my first youtube video

I made my first youtube video yesterday it is pretty much one of my acquired posts in video form! It was really fun to do something a bit different and I might make some more once I figure out what I can talk about. It is so funny I made myself nervous and spoke really quickly and was pretty much puffed by the end of the video. I would love if you checked out my video here or subscribed to my channel.
Do you have a youtube channel? I would love to check it out!

Overgrown

Look at our overgrown garden in these photos! None of us seem to have a very green thumb, every once and awhile someone will have a burst of motivation and go and weed. It looks like that motivation is long overdue this time. Its a pity as I would love to grow herbs and veggies. Maybe it is something that will come with time?

This skirt is so not me, I don't even know what possessed me to try it on but I did and it didn't look bad and it was $10 so I bought it. It is super comfy and I think will easily become part of my "easy to throw on" wardrobe.

This weekend has been busy catching up with friends and family which is always nice. Now I plan to watch The Voice (secret: I now have a massive crush on Keith Urban) and cook tomato soup for lunches this week. Hope you had a great weekend.

An Orange

It is officially coat weather here now. I am trying to put on a brave face and make the most of the cold weather with lots of tea and yummy soups.

Yesterday I enjoyed a day off work for ANZAC day. I slept in until midday it was soooo nice!! I cannot remember the last time I did that - probably high school. I than went and played two-up which for anyone who doesnt know is pretty much heads or tails but everyone stands around a big betting ring and bets against each other. It is only legal to play in Australia on ANZAC day as it can get a little out of control when people get drunk and have lost lots of money. I heard people betting $500 on heads or tails that is crazy!!

Heading back to work was a bit tough today so decided to keep it nice and comfy with a slouchy jumper which I got on super sale from ASOS. The only thing I wish I had have captured was my bright purple and orange earrings that my sister bought me, so bright and fun! These photos are pretty crappy as I had to crop them which of cause compromises the quality, oh well I like the outfit so am posting them anyway.

A little too sheer...

I have been searching for a navy skirt and found this one on ASOS. I waited for ages for it to go on sale and it just wasn't going to happen so I bit the bullet and bought it two weeks ago. I was so excited when it arrived and snapped these photos the following morning. I threw the tripod in my room and was running out the door when Brendan yelled out "You do realise that skirt is see through don't you?" This lead to me standing under three different lights to confirm that it was in fact see through. Insert immense disappointment here and annoyance for than missing the bus while I got changed. But at the same time being happy I have an honest boyfriend who doesn't let me flash my underwear to half of Canberra.
I decided to still post these photos as you can't tell its see through in them and I was pretty happy with this outfit at the time. Now I have to decide whether to send it back or buy a slip for underneath....

The Doncaster Mile

I am currently in bed reading blogs and catching up on The Block because I am absolutely exhausted from this weekend. Brendan and I headed to Sydney on Friday night to go to the Doncaster race day on Saturday. It ended up being a really good day and the weather was so nice especially considering rain had been forecast. Brendan's family was there as well as my sister and lots of our friends so it was nice to hang out with everyone. I ended up winning three races in a row, I am usually not a big gambler but I get into it when we actually go to the races.

However the highlight of the whole weekend was going to Azteca's mexican restaurant in Randwick. It was the most amazing mexican I have ever had! I nearly think it was one of the best meals I have ever had. If you are in Sydney you need to go there, go now if possible and order the beef fajita!! I actually am sad just thinking about the fact I wont be able to eat there again for ages....ok I need to go and get a life and stop rambling about food...I hope you had a good weekend too!

Little wishes

Photobucket
Photobucket

Just a little wishlist that I have put together over the last week. Most highly coveted is the Red Velvet clutch and the Vanilla and lace dress. I have only recently stumbled upon Abi's blog and shop and I adore her and everything she makes.

I am trying to be more sensible about the things I buy as lately I have been shopping when I am bored which ends in me owning random things and not actually getting things I need. Not a habit I want to get into so I am going to be a little more sensible and maybe make more lists and think things through. Good idea? Yes I think so too.

I saw this ASOS hot air balloon top last night but could not for the life of me find it on the website. I offered my first born child to the person who could find it for me on Twitter. Unfortunately Rhianne returned with the news that it was sold out. However it has still made it to the wishlist as I think it is adorable and will continue to stake it out on ebay.

What is on your wishlist at the moment?

Indian summer: weekend review

This weekend was relaxed, I had zero plans and it was so nice to just see where the day took me. The weather was beautiful, I cant believe I was bare legged. It is probably the suns last puff of energy before the winter sets in.
I went and watched Brendan play rugby on Saturday. I am such a slack girlfriend and don't go  often enough (read at all). I do spend most the time worrying he will get spear tackled and his neck broken, I am such a worry wart!
Than Sunday I went out for breakfast with my love and than for a long autumn walk spending more time taking photos of leaves than actually exercising. I also shopped way too much, I have been a little out of control lately and need to go on a shopping ban for a little while.

How did you spend your weekend?

Revamped office/wardrobe space

I spent a great deal of this weekend rearranging my office/wardrobe space. I even left a party last night to try and finish it off. I use to keep all my make-up in our bedroom but our bedroom is tiny and there is not enough space for us to both get ready in the mornings. So I decided to move it into the office and bought a mirror yesterday so now I have my own little space in the mornings to get ready. I am beginning to realise how spoilt I am to have this space and am trying not to think about living out of a suitcase next year when we go to the UK.

shoes: barkins // skirt: gifted // shirt: ally // blazer: dotti // belt: forever new

This gorgeous skirt was gifted to me by blog friend come real friend Alyssa. I have worn it on the blog before but when I put it on this time I seriously fell in love all over again. I love that it makes an otherwise traditional outfit more exciting. It has definitely inspired me to check out the op-shops (thrift stores) this weekend after not having gone for a few months.

I took a vintage dress home on the weekend for mum to take up and she just shook her head. She doesn't understand why I like wearing old clothes that my grandma would have worn. I have actually bought two dresses from op-shops that my nan owned I wish she had have kept them so I didn't have to buy them haha.

What is your favourite op-shop find or vintage item?

Oh no I just noticed all the postcards on the cupboard that are falling down, eeck need to go and fix that up.

Tshirt from Kmart - I LOVE Kmart at the moment! Their basics are so affordable and if you search around you can get some good quality items. This t-shirt was $5 and is super soft, perfect for casual days.

Jewellery from Collette - Collette is my go to store for trend pieces especially if there is a sale on. Last week they had a members 50% off sale so I think all this only cost me about $20, bargain.

Top from Ally - after seeing Emma's video about Ally and their current stock I decided to go in next time I was at the mall. I could not go past this top with such a pretty collar.

Shoes from Barkins - these shoes are ridiculously comfortable and perfect for work. I ended up picking them up in nude and black as I find it hard to get comfy shoes for work.

Socks from Kmart - another kmart purchase, I feel a bit stingy going on about how cheap they are but I hate paying a lot for socks as I always lose them. These were $2 for a 3 pack and they have the cutest little designs on them.

What have you bought lately?

shoes & top: target // large ring: collette // small ring: pandora // necklace: diva // handbag: kmart // pants & blazer: dotti

How was your Easter long weekend? Four days off was not long enough if you ask me but I won't complain especially as there is another public holiday around the corner. We went home for the weekend and caught up with friends and family, completely over ate but that was to be expected. Sometimes I find it hard leaving home and coming back to Canberra. I don't miss living in a small town but I do miss my family beyond words. Luckily we have a good life here so I should be grateful that I have the best of both worlds.

Lately I have been obsessed with maroon, I actually had to stop myself from nearly buying a top exactly the same as the one I am wearing in these photos but without the white spots. The Autumn weather is really starting to set in now and the nights are cool and perfect for snuggling in knitted socks and big woolly jumpers.

I am off to have a shower and pack my gym bag, I start boot camp tomorrow and I am kind of freaking out, fingers crossed I make it through the whole class! Oh and I added a "pin it" button to posts if you ever feel so inclined, I used this tutorial and a little bit of fiddling around.

Outfit photos make me cringe sometimes, like what am I doing in that second photo? Sure I could not post it but these are the best of the bunch and its good to be able to laugh at yourself right?

I love these pants they are so comfortable, I am trying to find them in different colours/patterns. I am even considering some sort of animal print...I know I am out of control!

I am so happy for this four day weekend even though we are so busy catching up with lots of family and friends but it will all be worth it to see everyone. I also plan on eating lots of chocolate, I dont know why but chocolate tastes so good in egg form. Brendan came home with so many easter eggs this afternoon, one of the perks of dating a kindergarten teacher.

Outfit post: sheer black and white

Top: dotti // necklace & ring: collette // skirt: h&m // shoes: barkins

I am currently obsessed with sheer blouses, I have bought three over the last few weeks but this is by far my favourite. I have never noticed before but I seem to have an inclination for black and white tops, I think I need to branch out a little. I wore this outfit to work today so it of course required a top underneath but on the weekends I have been a little risqué haha. I love wearing these tops with a blazer and jeans for a more casual look on the weekend.

Last night I decided it was time to change my wardrobe over from Summer to Winter. The effect of this is a near empty cupboard. I have no idea what I wore last Winter, I have about 3 dresses, 2 pairs of jeans and 4 jumpers that may provide a small amount of warmth. Luckily Autumn has been mild so far so extra layers haven’t been needed which leaves some time for shopping to get ready for another Canberra winter. I have to admit I got a little sad putting away all my pretty Summer dresses but it will be a nice surprise to get them out again in 6 months.

The hair style I pictured here is my now go to style I just do two plaits and than bobby pin it into a kind of bun thing. Very easy and disguises dirty hair!
